Labor Protection

“The safety of its employees is a top priority for Kom Munal too oil & Gas. Using technical instruments to accomplish job safely is the major goal of labor protection. Occupational safety is prevented, claims the “Occupational Health and Safety Management System” (OHSMS).

The System’s primary responsibilities are:
  • the establishment of a standard operating procedure for the preparation and execution of decisions about the implementation of organizational, technical, sanitary, and preventative measures aimed at providing safe and healthy working conditions;
  • preparing projects for work-related safety and health;
  • The situation of occupational safety and health is accounted for, examined, and evaluated.
The System’s primary duties are:
  • control over a company’s employees’ adherence to Republic of Kazakhstan labor laws regarding occupational safety and health;
  • certification of workplaces on working conditions together with the creation of an action plan pertaining to the enhancement and improvement of working conditions;
  • Occupational Safety and Health is promoted and staff are trained in safe work practices;
  • the protection of production equipment;
  • protecting the safety of production processes;
  • standardization of clean and healthy working environments;
  • providing personal protective equipment to staff;
  • ensuring that employees have the ideal balance of leisure and work;
  • workers’ hygienic and domestic services;
  • occupational selection of workers by profession.

The Refinery made it a point to adhere to both national and international safety laws. The Integrated Management System of Kom Munal too oil & Gas Oil Field has now been certified as conforming to the following international standards: ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management System), OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System), SA8000:2008 (Social Responsibility), and ISO 50001:2011.

In order to boost the effectiveness of preventing accidents and workplace injuries for employees on the organization, hazards were identified, evaluated, and strategies to reduce important risks were established. Additionally, the Kom Munal too oil & Gas occupational safety management system is currently putting additional demands on contractors to make sure that safety rules are being observed.
